What is metatine?

Metatine™ is a patented non-nicotine compound that provides adult users with a strong sense of satisfaction that is largely indistinguishable from traditional vape products.

A synthetically derived molecule that is structurally similar to, but chemically different from other vaping alkaloids, Metatine is not made from, and does not contain, nicotine. In its natural state, Metatine is a colorless, odorless, liquid. It is considered an active ingredient and is currently found (only!) in premium SPREE BAR vape devices. Products containing Metatine may not be sold to anyone under the age of 21.

What makes Metatine Unique?

Metatine’s unique composition allows it several advantages in the marketplace:

SPREE BAR vape devices that contain Metatine are available with rechargeable, reusable batteries. Reusable batteries — combined with “flavor pods” — make Metatine vapes highly affordable. 6,000-puffSPREE BAR flavor pods have a retail price that is LESS THAN HALF the price of leading 5,500-puff disposables.

Metatine does not contain nicotine and is not derived from tobacco; accordingly Metatine products are exempt from nicotine excise taxes in many states, which can result in massive savings for retailers and consumers. Please check your local laws and regulations.

Metatine can be combined with many flavors and is legal to sell in nearly all 50 states. Please check your local laws and regulations.

How does Metatine compare to Nicotine?

Metatine, when delivered via SPREE BAR, provides the same satisfaction, pleasure and enjoyment as traditional tobacco products and nicotine e-cigarettes. Of note, while Metatine is chemically distinct from nicotine, it may still be addictive, may have a toxicity profile similar to nicotine, and should only be used by current adult tobacco users and vapers, and never by minors (persons under the age of 21).

Is the experience different?

Those who have tried Metatine report an experience that is largely indistinguishable from traditional vape products. Further, reports indicate that SPREE BAR products, with Metatine, yield a very strong sense of satisfaction. Metatine also appears to combine well with flavors that are popular with adult consumers; the vast majority of adult consumers who tried SPREE BAR through the course of the product’s development reported that SPREE BAR provides “great taste!” Indeed, the overwhelming majority of adult users reported that SPREE BAR products, with Metatine, facilitate a highly pleasant sensory experience.

Does FDA regulate Metatine as a “tobacco product?”

Since Metatine does not contain nicotine and is not derived from tobacco, it does not fall under the regulatory purview of the FDA’s Center for Tobacco Products.

Metatine does not meet the definition of nicotine as stated in the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act, is not a salt or complex of nicotine, and is not itself derived from nicotine or tobacco; accordingly, Metatine is not subject to FDA tobacco requirements. Metatine products are not required to obtain FDA premarket authorization (often known as a PMTA).
